Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)

The focus of this component is the generation of full-length genomic NGS data for the HLA and KIR genes. This will entail NGS of the flanking 5′ and 3′ regions, and all exons and introns for the HLA-A, -B, -C, -DRA, -DRB1, -DRB3, -DRB4, -DRB5, -DQA1, -DQB1, -DPA1, -DPB1, and associated pseudogenes, and the KIR genes and associated psuedogenes.

These NGS efforts will be carried out in ~10,000 quartet families; HSCT transplant families with unrelated donors, cord blood units and haplo-identical family donors; HLA-typed IHWG reference cell lines; and samples of anthropological interest.
